Gabriella Nelson Founder of Herbaceous

About

Hello, and welcome to Herbaceous!

I’m Gabriella Nelson, a degree qualified Naturopath (Bachelor Health Science, Naturopathy) practicing on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria.

I see patients from surrounding areas such as Portarlington, Indented Head, St. Leonards, Point Lonsdale, Queenscliff, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Geelong.  As well as working with Melbourne and interstate based patients.

Herbaceous began in 2009 with a clear vision of helping people to enhance their health and vitality, and to become more connected with the natural world.

Herbaceous is a labour of love, and I have truly enjoyed growing it into the wonderful business it is today.

I am very passionate about my craft, and I believe in a practical and down to earth approach to helping people achieve the best possible health outcomes. I draw upon the ancient wisdom of herbalism, and strongly encourage people to become aware of the importance of food as medicine. I also believe in a modern scientific, evidence based approach to treatment.

I work in conjunction with other health professionals such as allied health practitioners, GPs and specialists. I also teach meditation for people of all ages.

I hope you enjoy visiting my corner of the web – whilst you are here, you may like to head to the blog to read my latest posts.

Warmest wishes,

Naturopathy

Your naturopathic treatment may involve the use of herbs, food as medicine, lifestyle advice, and nutritional medicine.  I believe that for true healing to occur, we need to delve deep to discover the cause of the concern. This allows the health of the whole person to be managed, rather than just the symptoms of the presenting condition.

If you wish to discover the cause of your health concern, and want work towards managing your health in a patient and balanced way, then naturopathy is for you.  It is not a quick fix approach to health, so if you are after a fast and furious way to manage your health, then naturopathy is most likely not for you.

I also encourage people to spend time in nature, which I believe is vital in bringing about balance and in helping people to feel more energised.

Consultations & Fees

Naturopaths help to unravel the cause/s of peoples health concern/s, and to spend time understanding you as an individual.

I am here to help you work towards realistic and manageable health goals. Treatment involves implementing practical strategies so that you are better able to manage your health and wellbeing.

Initial consultation:

Initial consultations are 75 minutes in length. (Price $185 – includes preparation of individualised treatment plan).

Some herbal or nutritional medicines may be dispensed in-house during the first appointment, as well as dietary or lifestyle suggestions. Or, this may happen in the second appointment, depending on your own unique needs.  Referrals for diagnostic testing are given when required.

Follow-up consultation:

The first follow-up consultation is normally scheduled around 2 weeks after the initial, and is 45 minutes long. (Price $100)

You will be presented with your individualised treatment plan, which will provide tools to help you both understand and manage your health and wellbeing.

During the follow-up, blood pressure testing, and other relevant tests may be performed.

Subsequent consultations can then be made, depending on your own unique requirements.

These appointments vary in price, and are charged according to the length of the consultation. For example, if you require a 30 minute review, the price is $75; or if you only need a short 20 minute check in, the price is $50.

Meditation

I teach a couple of different styles of meditation; intuitive development, and mindfulness.  Individual sessions are available for both styles of meditation.

Meditation for adults and teenagers

Meditation allows us to tune into the true essence of who we are. The process of stilling the mind allows us to gain greater insight into our lives. We become more accustomed to operating in the NOW – where our true power resides. Meditation benefits all aspects of our being – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Workplace meditation

I also offer workplace meditation classes and workshops. Meditation increases productivity, reduces stress, enhances creativity and improves health and wellbeing.  It also has a wonderful flow on effect into our everyday lives – a powerful combination indeed!
